INTERNSHIPS

PHILOSOPHY

As a church we want to see lives transformed and our entire city changed through the gospel. To this end, we need multiple influential leaders participating in the mission. A significant piece to the ministry and mission of Mystery is the developing of leaders to serve the local church, as well as to send into the world. Interns serve within the church and are shepherded through a process of study, as well as hands on ministry experiences.

In the Bible, and in particular the New Testament, leadership is a call to self-sacrificial service. Jesus came to serve. His disciples are to embody servanthood, laying our lives down for the God’s glory and the good of others.

Mystery believes servant leadership is best developed and equipped in the context of a local church. We want to blend biblical and theological training with real life ministry experience in community and on mission.

We work closely with emerging leaders to not only share the gospel but our lives as well.

FRAMEWORK

Internships are available in a variety of areas of ministry and last from twelve months to two years. To make the process most beneficial, an applicant is asked to commit to a minimum of 10 hours a week. They will work alongside an overseeing elder, working through Mystery’s leadership pathway, setting goals and working through assignments to hoiistically develop their character, as well as competency.

If accepted, an intern is required to raise his/her own support or provide for themselves through alternative employment. Interns will meet with their overseeing elder to discuss a plan for raising support.
